Water boiler
Can I please ask that a proper water boiler be installed ASAP (next few days), as the interim solution of a hot water dispenser is inadequate (provides lukewarm water), and I've had an unfortunately unpleasant encounter wherein the gentleman who runs the Walton café was quite rude and dismissive when I requested hot water from him: he told me to walk downstairs and get it myself from UG common room. Please give us a boiler.

Thanks again for taking the time to complete a Tell Us What You Think form, your feedback is valuable to us.  While there is a replacement boiler on order I am afraid that we do not know how long this will take to arrive.  Catering, while not obliged to provide anything, offered the option of the water dispenser, however I appreciate that the water temperature will fall way short of that provided by the boiler.  I am sorry to hear of your experience when requesting hot water from the café, while it isn't technically their responsibility to provide this, I would have hoped that you would have received an appropriate level of customer care.  I have spoken to the person involved informally, however they are managed by the catering team rather than the library so if you wish to take it further I suggest you may want to contact catering directly.  In the meantime I am looking into the possibility of providing a couple of kettles in the kitchen area, I need the approval of Health & Safety for this and we are likely to need a risk assessment.  I will let you know the outcome.
