Height Adjustable Tables
I really enjoy the standing desks, especially on the ground floor.
However, I have had a couple times now that term has started for majority of students where people NOT using the height-adjustable option are using the tables as normal study spaces. Same problem elsewhere in the library with these desks.
Can you make it easier to access height adjustable desks if they are used by people not requiring function?

Can you increase the number of these desks to encourage everyone to stand/be more active?

Can you increase awareness/foster culture where people will give these seats up if not using function/

Thank you

Library Response

Thank you for letting us know that you like using the height-adjustable desks.

We have notices to try to encourage people to give priority to others wanting to utilise the functionality.    We will have a look to see if these can improved and if we get some other positive messages out to help influence the culture.   We have also recently created some maps to show the location of the height-adjustable desks to help people locate them.

I think the real answer, however, is to increase the provision of height-adjustable desks so your feedback is useful.   This is on our agenda as we go forward with any refurbishment plans in the libraries.   We are currently refurbishing the 3rd Floor of the Marjorie Robinson Library Rooms (due to open in October) and all the new desks are height-adjustable so that might be an alternative venue for you to study in.

Anne
