There are two ways to  print to an A3 printer from your own device or a university PC

EITHER: go to nuprint.ncl.ac.uk and upload the document, choose the building, (eg Philip Robinson Library) and the level (level 2) and which printer, size of paper (A3) and colour or black and white (Bw)

OR open the file you want to print: click file and print, select A3 printer from the list of available printers, then click on both “page setup” and “printer properties” and ensure all paper size entries are set to A3 as opposed to the default A4. In the Philip Robinson Library, any request for A3 printing, whether colour or black & white, and whichever level you are on, will be directed to the printers in the computer cluster on level 2.

Further information from the University's IT Service is copied below:

A4 black and white printers are in all of our cluster rooms.  There are some A4 black and white printers near i-desks (Hershel and Daysh ground floor foyers). A4 colour printers are in the majority of cluster rooms.  The following clusters have A3 colour printers:

  • The Old Library
  • Philip Robinson Library (Tyne Cluster)
  • Marjorie Robinson Library Rooms
  • Stephenson Building

By default black and white printing will print on both sides, but you can print single sided by selecting the “single sided black and white A4 printer” from the list of available printers.

The majority of A4 colour printers can print double-sided. In Word and PDF documents, click on file/print, select the colour A4 printer, and then click on printer properties/finishing/print on both sides.
