Most electronic journals do not require a username & password if you are using them from a PC on the University campus. 

If you are off-campus and you start your search from a Library web page (such as Library Search or   you can use browzine  to search for a journal title or to see what  journals we have subscribed to  in different subject areas.   To access an article or a journal title  from library search or browzine you will usually be prompted to log in with your campus ID and password to verify that you're a Newcastle University user. Once you have done this, you will then have access to the resource as though you were on campus. 

There are a small number of e-journals which are only available off-campus using RAS or via a unique username and password.
