We would usually advise students (particularly postgraduates) to use some sort of reference management tool.
If you are weighing up which reference management tool would be best for you, you may wish to look at the comparison tables below. Of course the choice of which software you use depends on what your tutor/school advises, as well as personal preference. The main thing is that you use something that works for you.
The reason we recommend EndNote software at Newcastle University is because the University subscribes to the software and our EndNote Triage team in the Library support the software. To find out more about EndNote, please go to our EndNote Library Guide (see link below).
