SciFinder does require individual user registration; this is free.

Go to Library Search, or the link to SciFinder which is available on the Specialist Resources page of the Chemistry Subject Guide.

Click to Register when on campus and you will be taken through a step-by-step process to enable access (which includes a license agreement). More information on the process is available online (.pdf).

Once registered, access to SciFinder is dependent on IP address. This means it is accessible on campus or can be used off-campus by entering your campus ID and password when prompted (using the Newcastle University Web login gateway), followed by your individual username and password.

You'll find lots of useful video tutorials in the CAS training suite too.
