AVD stands for Azure Virtual Desktop. It gives staff and students who are working off campus secure access to software, files and protected websites. It has the same look and feel as a managed University PC.

The use of AVD also enables automatic access to online resources (e.g. journals to which the Library subscribes) which would normally only be available via a machine with an on-campus IP address.

For more information and help with AVD consult NUIT's Help/FAQ page.
