Newcastle University IT equipment is solely for the use of current Newcastle University staff and students.  Those who are visiting from other institutions (such as Community SCONUL members) will need to bring their own device and log on to their home institutions remote services. 

The most secure way to do that is use the Eduroam wi-fi network.

Please check with your own University the optimum way to log in to Eduroam but it is usually by doing the following: 

• Select Eduroam from the list of available networks.
• Enter your home university username and password ensuring you include the domain as part of your username: e.g. q991234@northumbria.ac.uk
