Unfortunately, we can't usually offer much support for EndNote on Macs (we don't have access to macs for testing problems to work out solutions).
However, we have seen a similar problem recently with some Mac users reporting that when trying to open EndNote they could only see the 'about' page or their desktop. It seems that EndNote is actually open at this point (the toolbar is available at the top of the screen) but to view your Library you'd need to then click 'File >new' (to create a Library if this was your first time accessing EndNote) or File > open (to open an existing library). It might be worth trying this.
If the above doesn't work, we recommend you get in touch with Clarivate (the people who make EndNote) as they will be able to investigate the cause of the problem more effectively. They have a really good team and respond quickly.

Jumping in here, I have Macbook air M1. It seems End note fails to request permission for file access. Two things I did, ensure Microsoft word open off rosetta (Use Get info) and as above, if End Note opens and display the boot up page but doesnt show anything else, click end not and use the tool bar at the top to create a new library which will prompt file acess and the GUI should appear after thatby Lg on Dec 17, 2023
