Due to the outbreak and spread of COVID-19, Newcastle University Library buildings will be closed for the foreseeable future. As such, you are unable to access the Library during this time.

Under normal circumstances, you would be able to use our Libraries in the summer months before you start your degree in September you must have obtained an unconditional offer from the University for the coming academic year. Bring the offer letter to either the Philip Robinson or Walton Library depending on your course of study and we can provide you with a Vacation smartcard. This smartcard will allow you to borrow 8 Long Loan books, use our study spaces and facilities and also connect to our WiFi network using your own device. Your vacation smartcard will expire the day before the start of the Autumn term. You will have by then registered for your course.
