Library Help: Academic Skills
Can an Academic Skills tutor look at my work?
Answer
Yes, we can look at a sample of your work during a booked appointment to explain relevant points of language, style or structure. We are unable to read work in advance of or outside of a one-to-one appointment but having examples of your work to discuss with a tutor can be a valuable place to start.
We are happy to look at rough drafts - you don't need to worry about having a perfectly polished final edit to bring along. We can also look at your marked work to interpret feedback and identify areas to address in future.
We are not able to read whole assignments and would aim to read enough to gain a clear indication of the issues to address, and then suggest strategies for you to apply to the rest of your work.
