If this is the desktop version of EndNote, it sounds like you need to update your settings in Word to get your EndNote tab back and reset your EndNote profile. To do this, please see instructions below:

(Please note this information only applies if using Word on a University machine or via RAS)

If you cannot see the EndNote tab in your Word document you may need to re-enable Cite While You Write (CWYW) or reconfigure EndNote.

To re-enable CWYW:

Go to File > Options > Add-ins. Click on the drop-down arrow at the bottom of the screen to Manage Disabled Items and click on Go (alternatively go to Manage COM-ADD-ins and press Go if the previous option didn't work). Highlight any EndNote or Cite While You Write (CWYW) add-ins and click on OK. Close and open Word again and the EndNote tab should appear.

If this has not worked you need to reconfigure EndNote.

To reconfigure EndNote:

Close Word. Go to Start > All programs > Database software > Configure EndNote X7. Open Word again and the EndNote tab should appear.

If this has not worked you need to reset your EndNote profile.

To reset your EndNote profile:

Go to Start > All programs > Database software > Reset EndNote profile then follow the instructions to reconfigure EndNote above.

If you are still having problems please submit a ticket to the IT Service Desk explaining that you have tried the above.

Please let us know if this has or has not worked and if not, we will try to help you further.
