Students and staff members

Students and Staff of Newcastle University can access electronic journals from PCs across campus by using Library Search. Where off-campus access is available, access is also available through Library Search. If log-in details are requested these will be the user's campus ID username & password.

A list of journal titles we subscribe to, grouped according to subject is also available through BrowZine.com.

Community, other members and visitors

We are unable to provide full  online access to journals to other library members due to restrictions placed on them by the publishers.

Visitors to the library can access a limited number of electronic titles from dedicated PCs within the library.

  • In the Philip Robinson Library these are located on Level 4 behind the Information Point.
  • In the Walton Library there are dedicated PCs opposite the Walton Library Desk for our NHS users to access a range of electronic journals and databases with facilities to print. NHS users need to come to the Library Desk with their NHS Smartcard so that they can be given the NHS users password. There is also a PC opposite the Walton Library Desk for our External users so that they can access some of our electronic journals and databases. It is advisable to bring a USB pen to download information as printing is not available. A password is not required to use the External PC.
