If you requested a book, it will be issued for an initial period of 7 days. Usually, this will automatically renew up to a maximum of 20 weeks, longer for staff members. When a particular book is in high demand a queue of requests can build up.

In these circumstances, to ensure as wide a circulation as possible, each library user in the request queue will be issued the book for a shorter loan period until there is no longer a queue.

Of course, once you have returned the book you will be able to rejoin the request queue by requesting it again for yourself.

If you believe there are insufficient copies of the book to meet demand you can let us know and we will look into getting more copies.
