We cannot activate a smartcard if you are NUMed student on placement in Newcastle, but we can make you a new one.

If you are beginning your placement in September, the start of our academic year, you are encouraged to get your smartcard at the Student Registration event in the Hadrian Building.

If you are beginning your placement at any other time, you can get your smartcard from the Library, or from Student Services.

Student Services can be found at King's Gate, you can visit Student Services webpage for more information.

King's Gate is building number 1 on the campus map, the Philip Robinson Library is building number 35, and the Walton Library is building number 60. You can download the campus map from Newcastle University website.
