It is important that you do not just type in the page numbers or make any other manual edits to a citation as the changes won’t be permanently stored and you may corrupt your Word document.

To add page numbers to your citations in Cite While You Write:

  • Open your manuscript in Word.
  • Click within the citation you would like to modify.
  • Go to the EndNote tab and choose Edit and Manage Citation(s).
  • Under Edit Citation tab, type the page numbers in the Pages field.
  • Click the OK button, and your pages should now appear in the citation - the 'p' and 'pp' will appear automatically if you are using Cite Them Right Harvard style.

The Pages field does not work for every style, if you find the page number does not appear in your citation, add it to the Suffix field instead.

You can add further information in both the Prefix and Suffix fields if required.
